Fees


  • Application Fee
    In order for your application to be processed, you must include a non-refundable $75 application fee with your completed application form. This application fee is waived for previous students if the last date of attendance is within 180 days from the new start date of attendance at the school. The fee is also waived for the student who defers the scheduled start date to a date within 180 days
  • Processing Fee/Rebooking Fee
    For the student wishing to attend the school as an international F-1 student, there is a non-refundable processing fee of $35. Additional processing/rebooking fees apply when there are changes in session start date, airport transfer service date, accommodation move-in date, or the center (inter-center transfer).
  • Express Mailing Fee
    Unless you pick up the acceptance package in person, we allow the delivery of the package only by courier companies that have a tracking system ensuring its delivery. The non-refundable express mailing fees are as follows: Outside the US: $65; Within the US: $30.
  • SEVIS I-901 Fee
    The SEVIS I-901 fee of $200 must be paid directly to the SEVP administrator for those, with an initial Form I-20, applying for student F-1 visa. Should the student wish that the school pay on the student’s behalf, the student must provide the credit card information to which the student wishes the charge be made. The school will send the receipt of the payment enclosed in the acceptance package. The fee is independent of POLY Languages Institute. Please visit www.fmjfee.com for details.
  • Documentation Fee
    We provide the following documents to students; Student ID, Enrollment Verification form, Official Transcript, Form I-20 with signature on the third page, recommendation letter to colleges or universities with conditional acceptance agreements, and certificates. To request such documents, a student must complete and submit the Student Service Request form with proper fees if applicable. Such requested documents will take 5-12 days to be prepared and may be picked up from the administration office. Any documents not picked up within 30 days will be discarded.
  • Examination Fee
    POLY Languages Institute is approved as an official Certified Test Administration Site (CTAS) to administer ETS internet-based tests. All POLY Languages Institute centers offer the iBT TOEFL and iBT TOEIC tests on site. For more information and to register for the tests, please visit www.ets.org.
  • Textbook
    Students must purchase the required textbooks for the courses by the second day of the session. The textbooks purchased are often used for more than one class. The average cost of textbook(s) per session (one month) is $60 for the Semi-Intensive Program and $75 for the Intensive Program.
  • Health Insurance
    All F-1 students and their dependents are required to purchase medical insurance prior to the start of their studies at POLY. The student may choose his/her own insurance plan, or use the insurance company, Harbour Group, LLC, that we recommend. The Harbour Group International Students and Scholar Medical Insurance Plan is specifically for F-1 students studying in the U.S. Monthly insurance rates depend on the student’s age group: $71/month for 19-23 years of age, $89/month for 24-29 years of age, $151/month for 30-35 years of age, etc. Visit the Harbour Group, LLC website at www.hginsurance.com for details.   • Airport Transfer Fee
    POLY provides airport pick-up service from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the POLY Center you will be attending or to the location you will be staying as long as the location is within 10 miles of the POLY Center. The $110 airport transfer service fee is due 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. There is no refund for the fee if you cancel less than 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
  • Accommodation Arrangement Fee
    There is a non-refundable fee of $200 to arrange your accommodation. The type of housing is not guaranteed, and a student will be placed in available housing. This fee is waived one time when changing, within 40 days of your placement, from Student Residence to homestay or vice versa. The housing arranged is only for the duration of the student’s studies at POLY, and the student must move out within 30 days of the student’s last date of registration at the school. The arrangement fee must be paid before the processing of your accommodation arrangement request. We need at least 10 days prior to your desired move in date for us to arrange your housing.
  • Security Deposit for Accommodations
    For both Student Residence and homestay, there is a security deposit of $100 which must be paid together with the accommodation arrangement service. The security deposit will be held by the school and paid within 10 days to the parties agreed by the student and the landlord. Should there be a dispute between the student and the landlord, the school will hold on to the money until settled between the parties. The student must request refund only after the student has moved out of the place and within 30 days of the student’s last day at POLY.
    For Student Residence, a new bed set (linen, blanket, and pillow) for the size of a twin bed will be provided and charged against the student’s security deposit in the amount of $65 unless the student provides his/her own bed set at the time of check-in.
  • Rental Rates
    For Student Residence, the student may book only between 30 - 120 days at a time. The rent for the period booked is due 10 days prior to the student’s scheduled move-in date. There is a rebooking fee of $35 for changing rooms. For homestay, the first month’s rent is due 10 days prior to the student’s scheduled move-in date. Thereafter, the rent is due on a monthly basis by the move-in date of each month. The monthly rate for homestays is subject to change, and the payment policy for each homestay may vary.

    The rent for the period booked is not refundable for both Student Residence and a homestay. The rental rates based on the type of housing are as follows:
