The School
POLY Languages Institute (for over 35 years) has assisted tens of thousand
students from all over the world in their pursuit of the language proficiency
needed for their educational goals, careers, and/or simply self-improvement. As
the byproduct of our dedication and commitment to better educate and serve our
students, we can assure our students with confidence that we are among the
finest language training institutes.
POLY Languages Institute, Inc., founded in 1970, opened its first campus in
Pasadena, CA and later added two additional campuses in Los Angeles, CA and
Irvine, CA. Each campus enrolls about 150 students per session, many of whom
transfer to colleges and universities upon completion of the POLY ESL program.
Completion of the POLY ESL program is accepted in place of the TOEFL or other
standardized English proficiency tests by many colleges and career
schools.

POLY Staff
The asset of any organization is its high-quality staff. Therefore, we set high
standards for our staff and endeavor to train, educate, and support our staff
to better assist you.
Administration Staff
The Center Managers, with the help from administrative assistants, manage the
center operations. Our Managers hold at least a Bachelor's degree and speak -
other than English - at least one other language. Regardless of the position
held, all of our admin staff upon your request is your advisor and assistant.
Our admin staff is trained to assist you in transferring-in to POLY,
transferring-out to colleges, accommodations, finding nearby libraries,
obtaining driver's license, opening bank accounts, etc. If you have any
questions or are in need of any assistance, please come and talk to any of our
admin staff. Our administration office is open at all times for our students.
Teaching Staff
POLY teaching staff holds at least a bachelor's degree, and typically has at
least two years of teaching experience. In addition, many hold TESOL, CELTA or
other teaching certificates. What distinguishes POLY teaching staff is that
they are trained on an ongoing basis. For better teaching
methodologies/approaches, POLY offers in-service training to our teaching staff
every session. And for better teaching styles and classroom management, POLY
conducts a student survey (the Administration Course Observation) so that our
teaching staff can better understand students' expectation of the classes. As
the measure of our success is the satisfaction of our students, our teaching
staff is continuously tuned in to better serve and teach our students.
